A view of the Grand Canyon from atop Yavapai Point, Arizona, circa 1915-1922. Caption reads: "Long may the visitor loiter upon the verge powerless to shake loose from the char, tirelessly intent upon the silent transformations until the sun is low in the west. Then the canyon sinks into mysterious purple shadow; darkness falls, and should there be a moon, the scene in part revives in silver light, a thousand spectral forms projected from inscrutable gloom." Postmark date: December 16, 1922; Postcard number: H-1534; Message included. Message reads: "Arrived here after comfortable trip. Fine Hotel the [unintelligible]. View of the Canyon from the front is most glorious. [unintelligible] description will stay here 2 days. San Diego on 18th. greetings to you all - J. C. Lorina"
