Soldier's Home, Boulevard and Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, circa 1907-1914. Caption reads: "Soldiers' Home, Boulevard and Grove Avenue, Richmond, Va. Situated in a beautiful grove in the western portion of the City are the comfortable cottages constituting the home maintained by the State for the benefit of native-born Confederate veterans, and those who served in Va. regiments. Here, these honored heroes, 'by time subdued,' are spending the evening of life, calmly and fearlessly awaiting the inevitable summons to spread their tents on the eternal camping-ground. In the Main or Administration building shown in this view is an excellent museum, containing, among many interesting relics, the mounted figure of Genl. Jackson's famous war-horse."
