Caption reads: "Black-eyed Susan, Maryland's State Flower, Type of daisy whose colors are similar to those in the arms of the family of Lord Baltimore, founder of the colony of Maryland, the Black-eyed Susan was officially designated as the state flower by the General Assembly in 1918. Although usually seen along dry roadsides, certain varieties of this wildflower prefer moist areas, such as these by a picturesque stream." Postcard number: 29281-B.
