On April 7, 1968, MLK Jr. was murdered at the Memphis Sanitation Workers Strike in Memphis, TN. Labor and civil rights leaders gathered in 1973 on this day to pay tribute to MLK Jr. for his service and ultimate death for equality and civil rights.
