A large group of people sitting and standing in and around the Hall of Philosophy at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, New York, circa 1907-1913. Caption reads: "Hall of Philosophy. The historic Hall of Philosophy, or "Hall of the Grove," stands in the forest reservation called St. Paul's Grove. The original building, modeled after the Parthenon at Athens, has been reconstructed and made a permanent memorial to the founders of Chautauqua. It was erected by popular subscription, and the cost, including the balustrade and approach, was about $20,000." Postmark date: July 24, 1913; Postcard number: 1568; Message included.
