Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, Virginia, circa 1981-2000. Caption reads: "Originally built in 1846 to house the government of newly formed Appomattox County, the building played no role in the surrender. When it was destroyed by fire in 1892, the county seat was moved. The present structure was reconstructed in 1964 and is used as a visitor center by the National Park Service."
